3 Steps to help those who have felt rejected by society to feel included, respected, and empowered

Poverty itself is a mindset. Starting from this way of understanding or seeing poverty, we understand that the worst thing here is not hunger but rather feeling inferior, worthless, feeling not to be considered. In my community some people go even further to say that they have come to earth to accompany others in the fulfillment of their glorious destinies but that they are worthless, their existence has no positive impact on the earth. Some people even see themselves as already dead and others think that they have no right to live because they have nothing good to offer.

Having these kinds of thoughts, or believing in this way, affects productivity. This creates a kind of curse on the life of the person, who deep down has capacities to use, gifts, and better things to offer to the world, potentials to exploit for the development of the world.

As a leader, my actions to bring those who feel rejected in society to feel included, respected, and empowered would be divided into three steps:

First, what I would do as a leader is to help them understand that what they feel is a state of mind that can be changed.

Second is to help them discover the potentials that they have within them, identify those potentials, and also work on how they can be used and make a positive impact.

Thus, to show them that they are the agents of change, the pioneers or the key actors of the change that needs to take place. In addition, introduce them to some of the people from other regions who have decided to take action and become the pioneers of change in their communities and the result they have been able to produce.

Therefore, helping them believe in themselves and develop self-confidence in order to create an internal motivation to bring out the best version of themselves for the positive impact or benefit of the community. Exchange experiences inspire and show that together we can do something bigger and better.

Finally, as a leader, I have a duty to connect them to opportunities that can enable them to reach their full potential for development and change.
